Job Summary:

The Electrical Head is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical engineering activities within the organization. This role involves managing electrical design, development, maintenance, and installation projects to ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Electrical Head will lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:

    • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize team performance and project delivery.

  2. Project Management:

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical projects from concept through completion.
    • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

  3. Technical Oversight:

    • Provide technical guidance and support for electrical design, development, testing, and commissioning activities.
    • Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and specifications.

  4. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all electrical systems and operations comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the electrical team and on all project sites.

  5. Budget and Resource Management:

    • Prepare and manage the electrical department’s budget, including project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
    • Allocate resources effectively to meet project and departmental objectives.

  6. Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, departments, and external contractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
    • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure satisfaction with electrical solutions.

  7. Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical department to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation.
    • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

  8. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all electrical engineering activities, including reports, project documentation, and technical specifications.
    • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least [Y] years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience in managing electrical projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
