We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Procurement Head – MEP to lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in EPC and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in sourcing, vendor development, and contract management, along with a strong grasp of CAPEX/OPEX planning, compliance, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
Develop and implement procurement strategies for MEP categories in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Lead sourcing initiatives for high-value CAPEX and OPEX requirements, including HVAC, fire-fighting systems, plumbing, electricals, etc.
Ensure competitive bidding, negotiation, and finalization of contracts in compliance with company policies.
2. Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers/vendors, including international sources for MEP equipment.
Maintain and enhance a strong vendor base to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
Establish long-term framework agreements and rate contracts with strategic partners.
3. Procurement Operations & Project Execution
Oversee the procurement lifecycle across multiple EPC projects, from requisition to final delivery and installation.
Monitor procurement schedules, coordinate with project teams, and resolve material delivery challenges proactively.
Ensure accurate and timely issuance of purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements via ERP systems.
4. Commercials, Contracts & Tendering
Lead technical and commercial evaluations of bids.
Manage the tendering process including BOQ validation, bid comparison sheets, and final negotiations.
Analyze market trends, conduct rate analysis, and ensure alignment with project budgets.
5. Logistics, Imports & Taxation
Manage import logistics, customs clearance, duties, and liaise with freight forwarders and clearing agents.
Ensure tax compliance (GST, IGST, import duties) and optimize landed costs.
6. ERP & Systems Management
Utilize ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar) for procurement planning, order tracking, GRN, and inventory control.
Maintain procurement dashboards and generate MIS reports for internal and external audits.
7. Cross-functional Coordination & Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the procurement team across functions (technical procurement, contracts, logistics).
Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Commercial, Legal, and Project Execution teams.
Conduct vendor meetings, project reviews, and procurement audits.
8. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives for procurement efficiency and governance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum 12–18 years of relevant experience in MEP procurement, preferably in EPC/Infrastructure/Real Estate sectors.
Proven expertise in handling high-volume, high-value procurement portfolios.
Strong command of SAP / Oracle ERP platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA in Supply Chain Management / Operations / Logistics.
Certifications like CSCP, CPM, CPSM or equivalent in supply chain and procurement management.
Knowledge of international sourcing, EXIM procedures, and taxation norms.
