We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to lead and manage the procurement function within our solar energy business at our Corporate Office. The ideal candidate will have 6–12 years of proven experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and procurement of solar equipment and services, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies in alignment with business goals. Continuously evaluate sourcing opportunities to optimize costs, improve quality, and ensure timely availability of solar-related materials and services.
Vendor Management & Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and other balance of system (BoS) components. Build long-term supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to achieve favorable pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
Contract & Commercial Management: Draft, review, and finalize procurement contracts and purchase agreements. Ensure compliance with commercial terms, payment schedules, and contractual obligations while safeguarding company interests.
Cost Optimization & Benchmarking: Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, bulk procurement, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing strategies. Benchmark costs against market trends to ensure competitiveness.
Quality & Compliance Assurance: Work closely with quality teams to ensure suppliers adhere to technical specifications and industry standards (MNRE, IEC, etc.). Conduct supplier audits and resolve non-conformance issues.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, projects, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless procurement planning, inventory alignment, and timely material availability for solar projects.
Performance Tracking: Define, monitor, and report procurement KPIs such as supplier on-time delivery, cost savings achieved, lead time, and supplier performance rating. Provide reports to senior management on procurement performance.
Risk Management: Identify supply risks such as price volatility, import dependencies, and geopolitical issues. Develop mitigation strategies including alternate vendor base and long-term agreements.
