We are looking for a motivated Solar Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing electrical systems for solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, including residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role requires expertise in system sizing, electrical code compliance, and technical problem-solving to deliver efficient, cost-effective solar solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Optimization: Create electrical designs for solar PV systems, including array layouts, inverters, and connections to the grid. Perform system sizing and optimize designs for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to local, national, and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and safety standards. Technical Support: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment with project scope and provide support during construction and commissioning. Energy Modeling: Use software tools like PVsyst and Helioscope for system simulation, performance estimation, and feasibility studies. Documentation: Prepare detailed design reports, electrical schematics, and equipment specifications, ensuring accurate project documentation. Site Assessment: Conduct site visits to evaluate infrastructure and gather data for accurate designs. Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field. Experience: 3 to 16 years in solar electrical system design or related field. Skills: Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD), strong knowledge of electrical codes, and experience in grid-tied and off-grid systems. Certifications (Preferred): NABCEP or similar industry certifications. Desired Attributes:
