1. MEP System Design (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection)
• Understand project requirements, client specifications, and design inputs across all MEP disciplines.
• Develop HVAC system designs including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water piping, ventilation systems, and equipment selection (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, etc.).
• Design electrical systems including HT/LT distribution, load calculations, SLDs, lighting layouts, earthing & grounding, and lightning protection systems.
• Design plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, rainwater systems, and pumping systems.
• Develop fire protection system designs including hydrant, sprinkler, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.
• Selection and sizing of equipment such as chillers, pumps, transformers, DG sets, panels, piping, valves, and fire protection components.
• Prepare detailed layouts, schematics, and coordinated service drawings.
• Ensure integration of all MEP systems into a unified and coordinated design.
2. Compliance & Standards
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards such as IS, NBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and local statutory requirements.
• Incorporate safety, sustainability, and energy-efficient design practices.
• Stay updated with evolving MEP design standards and industry best practices.
3. Technical Coordination & Execution Support
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP teams for clash-free and integrated designs.
• Work closely with BIM teams for model development and coordination.
• Provide technical inputs during design development and execution stages.
• Support procurement and site teams with technical clarifications and approvals.
• Assist in resolving site issues and ensure design intent is maintained during execution.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and value engineering discussions.
4. Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculation sheets, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Maintain organized and traceable documentation including revision control.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings, reports, and revisions as per project schedules.
• Support tender documentation and technical submissions.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in MEP design for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory) and Revit MEP (preferred).
• Knowledge of design tools such as HAP, ETAP, Dialux, or similar software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with execution practices and site coordination.
• Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
