We’re looking for a Planning Manager – MEP to lead Our engineering and design office across all MEP disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting). This is a
pivotal role responsible for translating BOQs into precise IFC drawings, managing the design & drawing pipeline, and ensuring error-free release to site teams for execution.
You will serve as the technical anchor between client consultants, internal execution teams, and our project planning function—driving design integrity, drawing standardization, and preexecution clarity.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design Leadership
Lead the end-to-end engineering and design process for all MEP trades across multiple industrial projects.
Ensure accurate, coordinated, and timely release of GFC/IFC drawings based on approved BOQs and site constraints.
Manage a design team comprising Draftsmen and Design Engineers across HVAC, Electrical, Fire, Plumbing, and Process Utilities.
Drive adherence to CE’s design standards, drawing templates, and version control protocols.
Planning & Coordination
Collaborate with the Projects team to align design outputs with execution milestones and material procurement schedules.
Conduct drawing review meetings with internal teams and consultants to ensure buildability and alignment with site conditions.
Anticipate design bottlenecks, resolve clashes, and proactively revise layouts to meet evolving site realities.
Ensure correct design quantities for each item and version-control drawing releases are updated on Promasch
Stakeholder Management
Interface with client engineers and consultants for design approvals and technical clarifications.
Support estimation and costing teams by validating quantities, sections, and part-level design inputs.
Provide engineering sign-off before every material release and major construction milestone.
Team Leadership
Guide, mentor, and manage a team of 5–6 Draftsmen and 2–3 Design Engineers.
Establish a system of quality checks and peer reviews before drawings are released.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and collaboration.

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred: with MEP design exposure)
AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM exposure is a strong advantage
Experience
15-18 years of experience in MEP engineering and design
Strong background in industrial projects, cleanrooms, data centers, or high-spec industrial infrastructure
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary MEP design teams
Familiarity with HVAC loads, DBR, lighting layouts, cable tray routing, plumbing risers, etc.
Skills
Strong AutoCAD proficiency (2D; 3D a plus),
Working knowledge of MEP design codes (ASHRAE, NBC, IS, NFPA, etc.)
Excellent cross-functional communication—comfortable engaging with Project Managers, Procurement, QA/QC, and Clients
