The Electrical QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of all electrical systems within construction projects. To ensure that the systems installed meet industry standards and project requirements, the QC Engineer is required to:
- Review design specifications
- Inspect installations
- Conduct quality control tests
- Provide technical expertise
### Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections and review test certificates
- Study drawings and project-related quality assurance plans
- Coordinate with TPI/Client for routine inspections according to project requirements
- Maintain QC documentation and inspection records using advanced software like ERP, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Excel
- Write and revise standard quality control operating procedures
- Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions
- Collect and select samples for testing and for use as models
- Survey sites ahead of fitting electrical, utilities, plumbing, or fire-fighting systems
- Perform various tests, such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and review test certificates of materials used on-site
- Conduct checks with appropriate inspection instruments (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, voltage detectors, etc.)
- Approve incoming material from vendors based on material quality and interact with vendors for improvement in quality
- Assist in supplier risk assessments by performing sensitivity analysis on critical vendors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in quality control and inspection of electrical systems in construction projects
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations related to electrical systems
- Sound knowledge of tools required for QC checks (multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, voltage detectors, etc.)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
