Job Description

The Performance Engineer/Senior Engineer – Simulation is responsible for monitoring solar plant performance through the Centralized Monitoring System and ensuring optimization of plant productivity. The role involves regular analysis, feedback to site teams, and interaction with customers to support performance improvement initiatives. The individual will carry out monthly simulations using PVsyst, prepare performance reports, and handle contractual deliverables related to asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant performance through the Centralized Monitoring System on a daily basis.
  • Optimize asset performance by providing regular and value-added feedback to site coordinators and site in-charges.
  • Conduct monthly plant performance analysis using PVsyst and compare results with site-measured data.
  • Carry out Energy and PR modeling for third-party O&M using PVsyst simulations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely feedback and optimization actions.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain appropriate documentation and records.
  • Utilize analytical tools for detailed performance analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare and monitor contractual deliverables related to plant performance.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Requirements
  • B.E. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of PVsyst (mandatory).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of solar plant performance analytics and simulation tools.
  • Certification in solar technology (PVsyst / PV SOL / GSES / NISE) preferred.

Experience
  • 0–2+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar.
  • Strong interest in solar technology and performance engineering.

Soft Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in business planning/budget preparation (preferred).
