The Solar Estimation professional will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role involves close coordination with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams to support winning techno-commercial proposals in both domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects, including EPC scope (experience in international projects will be an added advantage).
2. Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams to ensure proposals are technically sound, commercially competitive, and aligned with client requirements.
3. Ensure timely receipt and validation of technical inputs, BOQs, and drawings from the design team.
4. Review RFPs, tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and site survey inputs to clearly understand project scope and requirements.
5. Float enquiries to suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants; receive, evaluate, and perform comparative analysis of quotations for accurate cost finalization.
6. Possess a basic understanding of Substation Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and related electrical drawings.
7. Develop accurate and competitive cost models, pricing strategies, and project budgets for bid submissions.
8. Maintain and analyze historical cost data to improve accuracy and benchmarking for future estimations.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, market pricing, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in Solar PV and BESS.
10. Support management during techno-commercial discussions, negotiations, and bid clarifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
● Strong expertise in Solar EPC cost estimation and BOQ preparation
● Knowledge of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS systems
● Understanding of electrical systems, substations, and SLDs
● Proficiency in cost modeling, vendor evaluation, and price benchmarking
● Ability to analyze RFPs and technical documents
● Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills
● Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools
