Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented professional to lead our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Solar Sales vertical. This leadership role is responsible for driving business growth by identifying and closing opportunities in rooftop and open-access solar projects. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in solar energy business development, especially in the C&I sector, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects and leading high-performance sales teams.

A strong understanding of solar technology, commercial structuring, regulatory frameworks, and market trends is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for C&I solar sales (rooftop and open-access).

  • Identify, pursue, and close business opportunities in the commercial and industrial sectors.

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process including prospecting, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closure.

  • Build and manage strong client and stakeholder relationships to ensure long-term business partnerships.

  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, finance, and project delivery teams for smooth execution.

  • Track market trends, regulatory updates, and competitive intelligence to inform strategy.

  • Ensure achievement of sales targets and contribute to company revenue goals.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts.


Candidate Profile – Ideal Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA in Renewable Energy or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the solar energy or renewable energy sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record in business development and sales of large-scale C&I solar projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, business units, or sales verticals.

  • Strong knowledge of solar energy solutions, commercial models, and regulatory landscape.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, high-value deals.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Renewable Energy Business Development or similar.

  • Experience in both rooftop and open-access solar markets.

  • Understanding of solar EPC, O&M, and asset management aspects.
